Nse Translation Project

The Nsenga Bible Translation Project

It all started as early as March 2010 in Petauke with the dialogue meeting between groups like the Nsenga Bible Committee (NBTP) and the Bible Society of Zambia (BSZ). Then other key stakeholders were also involved such as: The church leaders, the committee members, the chiefs and the local government officials.  In May 2010, the Bible Society of Zambia had a meeting with the representatives of Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT). In May 2012, a workshop was conducted under the guidance of the Bible Society of Zambia. From there three translators were chosen. Officially the project started in 2012.  On 1 July 2015, ParaText was introduced and the send-and-receive with Bible Society of servers.
In August, Bible Society of South Korea did the typesetting for the Nsenga New Testament.  The launch and dedication of the NT was done on 14 July 2016. Supporters are United Bible Societies (UBS), Bible Society of Zambia (BSZ), Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT) and ETEN.

In 2016 January, the works for the Old Testament started. By March 2021, the draft was completed without the DC Books.

By God’s grace, we look forward to its completion.
